Also in 1960, because Snoopy is now "thinking" and walking on two legs, the view of his doghouse is rotated from a 3/4 view, showing the name Snoopy across an arched entrance to the familiar "side on" view.

Snoopy "owned" a Van Gogh painting that was lost when his doghouse burned down, and replaced it with a painting by Andrew Wyeth.
Wyeth, of course, was tickled pink.

"You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" premiered off Broadway in 1967, and finally made it to Broadway in a new, slightly updated version in 1999.
Cast albums to both version are out on CD.

The animator Bill Melendez has also provided the "voice" of Snoopy since the 1960s.

Many of the strips caused some outcry, including a series where Peppermint Patty got tested for narcolepsy, placing Franklin (an African character) into a school with caucasian kids, Lucy's annual pulling the football away from Charlie Brown, using passages from the Bible (even in December, one of the holiest months in the Judeo-Christian calendar), and a 1980s cartoon where Woodstock is upset over Thanksgiving Turkeys.

On June 6, 1993, Schulz used his cartoon to remember D-Day, which continued through 1999.
