Went out and read a couple of the stories, AZ. Very good. I'll have to read some more later.

Yeah, I liked them. The writers tried to stay true to original style, and they're a bit more literary--yet still hot. I like that. And I'm a big Holmes fan.

Both my wife and I love Holmes, too. We especially enjoyed Jeremy Britt as Sherlock, but, also Basil Rathbone. Both were terrific in their own way.

Have you seen the latest incarnation, modernized, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, on PBS? We thought it was really good, and can't wait for the next series to make it across the pond ( it's a BBC production).
Also, if you haven't already read them, allow me to recommend Laurie R. King's Mary Russell series to you and your missus, starting with The Beekeeper's Apprentice. Holmes meets his match in Russell, and the books are great--true to the original style, tone, and personality, but they have their own charm, too. I love them--just reread the whole set (there are like 10 of them now).

Thanks for the head's up!
Easter Sunday, my wife and I met our daughter and her husband for lunch, and, on the way home, I just happened to notice our Oldsmobile's mileage turned to ...
151515
Hadn't expected it and if I'd glanced a few seconds later, it would have passed by.
Not earth-shattering, just kind of neat.

151515?
The number of times I haven't been to the gym this year?
Damn that's a coincidence.

My baby will be 16 tomorrow and I made these crazy coco-nilla filled and frosted cupcakes. I hope he likes.

Something's wrong here... You're still 29 and I'm 23 ( ) yet your youngest is 16 and my kiddo just turned 19. Illogical!

The word "Doctor" suddenly springs to mind, very loudly.
