That stand was a candleholder. I ground the tip off where the candle attaches and took a glass bowl and attached it with floral clay. It stands 20" tall. I wouldn't go any higher because the judges need to see the flowers at eye level or below. Yeah the guys at the show were ribbing me about how big it was. They said next time they would bring a ladder so I could work on it. 
BTW.... Jay-t I emailed you a pic of one I thought was pretty neat.
