What a really wonderful weekend. Our grand-daughter competed in State competition at Champaign, Illinois as part of her school's Flag Corps. For their size school, they won first place in their category ... Flag Routine with Props. They were terrific.

More than 2400 girls from over 130 schools competed. A good chunk of her family made it to watch her including our daughters from Peoria, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis and cousins from Chicago and Decatur, and an Aunt and Uncle from Milwaukee. Plus, of course, her folks, her brother and all four grand-parents.

We all were at the competion from about 11AM Saturday until almost 11PM Saturday night. Then spent the night at a local hotel so we could all have breakfast, visit, and then have lunch before we left to come home.

Great weekend for one very proud grandpa.
