	| New York~ 6 October 1927The first spoken voice in a feature film, that of Al Jolson in The Jazz Singer, brought the audience to its feet applauding when it was shown today.  In the middle of a night club sequence, Jolson suddenly spoke: “Wait a minute, wait a minute,” he said.  “You ain’t heard nothin’ yet!”  In another part of the film he sits at the piano exchanging lines with his mother between verses of Blue Skies.
