It's a near-quote of a excerpt from the poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
The poem recounts the cavalry charge by the 15th Hussars-part of the British Light Cavalry Brigade at Balaclava during the Crimean War. Stupid fucks in command seemingly did all they could to ensure that the brigade woudl be slaughtered in attack a fortified Russian artillery position.
