OMG!!!! I have *so* thought the same thing!!!

As an american student studying in the United Kingdom, I've got nothing but respect for british culture, british literary tradition, and cheap british student food served at restraunts that don't close 'til well after midnight. What I can't stand, however, is the way the british have decided to design their water taps. Two taps, one hot, one cold, providing two streams of water. One stream freezes and the other scalds and they never mix. Sure, I suppose that I could use the stopper and wait 'til the mixture cooled, but I haven't got all day; I just want to wash my hands and move on with my life without being unduly inconvenienced. I thought that design was a british strength; why are these bathroom fixtures about fifty years behind the times?
