Just popping in briefly. Haven't been around in a loooong time. Favorite Uncle died suddenly of a torn aorta. Sister-in-laws' hub underwent surgery for advanced colon cancer. No bag, and doing good in the hospital. Dear elderly friend was almost bilked out of her life savings by a con man and his family. We stopped that! And, stepson's girlfriend lost the twins she was expecting at 10 weeks. She had 2 previous miscarriages. She has lupus. They are having a rough time right now, and just taking it a day at a time. Boo dog, 19 year old malmute is deaf and was having health problems but doing okay, now.

I have to say that April and May of this year were not my favorites. I'll peek in, again, when I can. Miss the pixies. :) Take care, folks.

for the past month at school there was a huge pothole right behind where I park and when we had torrential downpours every parent picking up their kid splashed mud all over my vehicle. I just finally was motivated enough to wash it. I noticed they filled in the pothole :D

The next 2 weekends will be the end of setting up at Renaissance Fairs this year .Then I get to relax until Sept.

Thanks, jay-t. That reminded me ... our local Jubilee College Old English Faire is coming up on the 21st and 22nd. Always a big deal with jousting and crafts; good food and a bit of ale. :)

After only 12 weeks at my new job I filled out the paper work and had the interview to become a swing manager. I'm on my way, Baby! :)

After reading the news report of the rain we are getting.............I've decided I'm even more lucky then I thought cause I didn't run into any downed power lines on my drive home.

I'm afflicted with a general malaise

I found a woman's VISA credit card on my way to the grocery store earlier. It was nearly right in front of the credit union's doors (it was a card from that credit union), so I slipped it underneath the locked door and hopefully someone who works there will find it tomorrow when they open.

I've found one person on Canada411 here in Montreal with the name on the card, so I'm trying to catch her to tell her I found her card.

OF, DB, Soda & PF...thanks for all the good wishes. I think PF's comment that smooth sailing may be ahead is interesting. Here's soemthing curious from this morning.

My other half has been stockpiling a bit of canned food and some large bags of rice and beans. They are in a closet in his computer/HAM room. There is also instant food in bags for his HAM field day trips and hunting trips. Now, to the point. This morning I had to get into that closet to get a small metal safe. When I moved the safe, there were fresh, large, mouse turds behind it...on the shelf. I put the safe back. I emailed and called DH. I told him I cannot even begin to deal with that. No way. No how. He said he will handle it. I said fine. I know the weekend will be hell.

And, I was just beginning the carpet shampooing from Boo dog piddling accidents everywhere.

I'm so trying to not scream and use dynamite. :hair: :weg:

The Renaissance Fairs are over for the year! At least the ones I go to.Altho after seeing our booth(we had 6 smiths working and our booth was 16century period correct) we were invited to Texas,Florida and Ohio renaissance fairs!Now if I could just get the time off work
