Thanks, gg.

Still haven't heard from spine-dude's office about scheduling a follow-up. Grrrr.

Good morning, Goofy. Sorry I missed being here while you were logged on. Anyway, good to see you posting again, we missed you.

Over on a different thread, there were space planes mentioned. Not exactly a space plane, but the crewed version of the Dragon capsule is scheduled to undergo (an uncrewed) full flight test soon: https://www.space.com/nasa-spacex-c...gn=20190223-sdc

dicksbro 03-01-2019 12:01 AM

Be fun to watch that first test flight, won't it?

gekkogecko 03-01-2019 10:42 AM

It would be. A lot of these things are webcast live, now I'm going to go check and see if this one is.

Oooooh, the answer is: YES!: https://www.space.com/how-to-watch-...-1-mission.html

dicksbro 03-02-2019 02:07 AM

Should be good. Space-X has sure come a long way in a relatively short period of time. Impressive company.

gekkogecko 03-02-2019 12:12 PM

I did not stay up to watch it live-0200 is a bit much for me, but the coverage here: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...i-live-coverage said the launch went well. Couple of more hurdles to jump, but it's looking good.

dicksbro 03-03-2019 03:39 AM

Anxious to see more on the launch and how it all goes. Thanks for the update … I couldn't stay awake for it either. :(

Successfully passed another milestone, autonomous docking (previous dockings with the International Space Station have been done with the assistance of the ISS's robot arm):

Hip Hip Horray! Sounds like everything went off without any hitch.

gekkogecko 03-04-2019 10:57 AM

There's still a big milestone to pass...the re-entry test, in just under two weeks now. It's a bit tricky, as the Crew Dragon is asymmetrical. But we'll find out what effect that has on re-entry when they do the test.

dicksbro 03-05-2019 03:12 AM

We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Goofy 03-08-2019 12:27 AM

I'll keep ma' paws crossed, too. Gwarsh, kind of excitin' if I do say so myself.
