I have a really, really good job. I am compensated well for doing work I enjoy. Today I was offered a grant to earn my PhD. It would be a full time commitment for 4 years and I'd have to quit my current job. I'd also not likely make the kind of $$$ when I am done, that I make note. I really want my doctorate but I also want to continue supporting my family. So incredibly torn.

I don't understand why you wouldn't make more money having the doctorate.

Nah, I'm fat enough at this point. Trying to change it though.

In education, they don't pay you more just because you have higher degrees. I make more in my job now than I would as an associate professor

Pilled Higher and Deeper doesn't always bring the monetary reward but does come with an abundance of satisfaction. :2cents:
