What's a rock cake?

Something between a cake and a (cookie) biscuit, slightly sweet, a little crumbly, often eaten with butter and jam. A sprinkle of sugar before baking gives it a faint crust. Volcano shaped, not a scone. It's a mid-afternoon break kind of thing. Some are heavier than others, with really heavy ones living up to their name. About 5 inches across. I think they're a Scots thing, but no hint of shortbread.

I was actually productive last night. My g/f and I signed up our puppy for training, did part of the grocery shopping, I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed and shampooed the living room, bought and potted some ivy, did the dishes, and laundry. Now tonight all we have to do is finish the grocery shopping and chill.
