BTW, they wanted the surgery moved up to today. One of the reasons that wouldn't work, is we're getting ready to head over to Champaign, IL where we'll meet OF and his lovely lady and Scarecrow and Mrs. King for a bit of lunch and time for a visit. :thumbs:

I had a great time at a week long conference. My mind is so filled with ideas. I really missed my Pixies though.

You mean, it wasn't a cyberperving conference ?

Uhhhh. Nope. But it was equally as stimulating ;)

For the first time in 20+ yrs, I'm not driving a minivan. HHR, 30 MPG hwy mileage heaven.

Our weather has turned hot and humid again ... but with no rain in sight. :(

Mrs. and I tried very hard to find some red, white and blue patriotic panties to send to PF to use as the "PIR (Pixies in Residence) flag," but alas, none quite met the high standard we place on this noble symbol of Pixieland.

For me, it looks like on the 18th, I'll be taking some pre-surgery tests at the hospital here in anticipation of surgery on the 24th to remove the cancer nodule on my lung. The cancer is actually (and I may have said this before somewhere) a sneaky little set of cells from the colon cancer I had removed three years ago. The nodule is very small and the surgeon is an exceptional doctor that did my bypass surgery back in 2002. He indicated that there's about a 99.5% probability he can get it all and while removing this nodule, will try to assure no other suspicious activity is present.

Cancer was caught VERY early. The doctor's said that a small nodule would be considered any in the 0-3cm range. Mine is less than 1cm and probably could not have been detected much before now. That's good news.

Bad news is that I'll probably be gone from Pixies for the 3 or 4 days I'll be in the hospital; and, after I get home it may still be a bit before I'm up to sitting at the terminal and typing very much; but, hopefully that won't be that long.

My thoughts will be very much with you DB. Sounds like you have some top-notch doctors looking after you, which has to be a good thing!! :D

Spitting rain here in Wisconsin, but nothing significant.

I thought DB had come to AZ to visit me today. I pulled into the parking lot at the grocery store, and the car across the way had a license plate that said "I AM DB" on it. I took a picture, but evidently there is so much crud on the lens of my phone camera that it didn't turn out. :(

My wif'e greenhouse is being super productive: hot peppers, bell pepeprs, tomatoes, green beans, okra, basil, etc, etc, etc.

Its been a long summer in a short amount of time.
