An unwelcome encounter with some kangaroos has caused an expensive delay for ambulances responding to a call near Stawell, in western Victoria.

An ambulance was called to pick up a patient at Halls Gap, but was damaged after hitting a kangaroo, about 15 kilometres from Stawell.

A second ambulance was dispatched to the scene.

But it too, hit a kangaroo, only about half a kilometre from the first ambulance.

A third ambulance was called and the patient, who was in a stable condition, was taken to hospital without further incident.

It is expected to cost $10,000 to repair the damage to the two ambulances.

Meeting with my artist to see my new tattoo design. It's going to be great.

Neige 07-25-2010 05:51 PM

My coworker. She's so so great! :loveshowe Her English is very good, considering that she grew up in Québec... but once in a while, she'll confuse a few things. Yesterday, she came out with, "Har we earing a roaster?" (Translation: Are we hearing a rooster? ) When we explained why we were laughing at what she said, she wanted to know what a roaster was - my boss said, "The roaster's what you put the rooster in to cook it!!!"

Actually it was yesterday (it's only 5AM today) ... my wife and I had went to a nearby park (Jubilee State Park) taking pictures of flowers. A small butterfly literally landed on my finger and sat there for quite a while as the Mrs. and I got pictures of it. It even "walked" from one hand to a finger on the other hand. Amazing. Didn't seem the slightest bit afraid.

Oldfart 07-26-2010 07:47 AM

Blam! Butterfly?

Three good movies in the last two days. Two days ago ... Inception. One terrific movie that reminded me a bit of The Matrix. Had to really follow the story but if you did, it was a very good movie.

Then, yesterday we saw SALT which reminded me of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Action from start to finish and a lot of fun to watch, especially if you like "Secret Agent" kinds of stories.

Finally, Cats and Dogs. Hilarious. Saw it in 3D and I'm not so sure it wasn't better than the first one and I loved that one.

:D
