Can't say that's happened (the regret part). If the rule is minor and I understand the situation, as a supervisor I sometimes limited the "scolding" to myself and the party involved ... then forgave them the offense.

Yes - my middle daughter is about to start taking driving lessons so that will be something I will be responsible for doing.

I have ... but very, very seldom. Once up in Minnesota on a back country road and older gentleman who looked pooped. And, once back in the early 80's ... a family (two adults and little children) whose car froze up on a dark, traffic free street at about 1 in the morning on a night when wind chills were approaching -70 or -80!!!! Thank God we picked them up and carried them home in our car because they would have surely frozen to death that night.
