The bad news is the weather in the Southeast.

The good news is, it pretty much passed us here in Maryland by.

Other than the cold and minor amounts of snow ... it really hasn't been too bad here recently. Saw a friend from Memphis yesterday evening ... Memphis, I guess, had 1-3 inches of the white stuff and it was really messing up things. Hmmm ... here, 1-3 isn't worth making much mention of. :shrug:

The good news is the continuity of our political institutions.

The bad news is the unfortunate violence attributed to some of the protesters at Trump's inauguration. They forget that the ceremonials are a form of tribute to the peaceful transfer of power in a democracy that is rather unique in the world.

AND the bad news sometime is "the continuity of our political institutions". :banghead:

The Good New is "in contrast to all the other, superior alternatives". :rofl:

The bad news is that we're nearing the end of some really nice January weather (for the heartland). :(

The Good News is that it's now February, and Spring will arrive soon.

The bad news is that we've got a lot to get done in the next week.

The good news is that there is a whole week to get it done.

The bad news is that there always seems to be unexpected things popping up just when you need the time to address others. :(

The Good News is that it's Saturday, and I have all day and all tomorrow to enjoy as I see fit.

The bad news is that as good as today looks weather wise, I fear winter hasn't had her last word on the subject.
