The Good News is that we all get to begin another year! :thumbs:

The bad news is if the new year has the same level of terrorism and this past year and worse, there's no indication it won't have. :(

The Good News is that almost all of that action does not occur in this country.

The bad news is we suspect they're always looking for ways to bring the terror to us.

The Good News is the price of gas.

Day before yesterday I would have agreed. The bad news is that yesterday :( gas shot back up to $1.899, darn it. Hopefully it's going to drop right back down. :wish:

The Good News is the continuing strength of the economy.

The bad news is that with 19 trillion in debt (and growing) the long term prospects are rather bleak.

The good news is the long term prospects aren't as bleak as it might appear.

The Good News is the diplomatic resolution to Iran's nuclear weapons program.

The bad news is that I'm not as all confident that a country that held our embassy hostage and lied consistently for years is going to care one iota about whatever the agreement specifies as their responsibility ... and we're returning a hundred billion dollars to them that I doubt they'll spend on improving the lives of their citizens very much. I hope I'm wrong but I just don't have confidence in them or the agreement. I think Israel and the Sunni states are in for trouble and the potential expansion of nuclear arms to other countries is becoming more and more likely. :(

Those are accurate and reasonable criticisms, one of which I'll qualify by identifying the so called "snapback" mechanisms built into the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed by Iran. If, as it would appear, the sanctions were sufficient to bring Iran to the negotiating table, their re-imposition, which cannot be vetoed in the UN Security Council, has a fair change of inhibiting that behavior.

The Good News is that yesterday's snow did not accumulate.

The bad news is that our really cold weather will be hanging around for another day or two before we start inching back up a bit to just cold. :shrug:

The good news is that this area is expecting 12+" of snow Friday, and an additional 8"-12" of snow n Saturday. No work or meetings for us!
