The bad news is that we're getting far too much rain.

The Good News is that the city will soon be scheduling the street sweeping trucks down our street.

The bad news is they may sweep up all the coins you used to find laying around.

The good news is the coins they sweep up could be given to charity.

The bad news is they're more likely to end up in a landfill. :(

The Good News is that my neighborhood will be marginally cleaner than it used to be.

The bad news is that it'll be dirty again tomorrow. :(

The good news is that is could be fun to organise a working bee and clean the streets together.

The bad news is that someone will start complaining that so-in-so isn't doing their fair share. :(

The good news is that the complainer and the slacker will be the same person, who will experience public humiliation as a result.

The bad news is that they often just leave the project after they complain but before it's discovered that they're the slacker.

The good news is that we can then have fun talking behind their backs.

The bad news I'll keep think of that saying they taught me as a kid, "If you can't say something nice about someone, you shouldn't say anything at all." :(
