Almost as an after thought. In the pic that shows the lane. You see a big expanse of yard. Its owned by the railroad. and its across the lane from my house. the train tracks are just on the other side of the vegetation. Don't really have a good pic to show you the tracks.. cause they are down in a massive ditch. but yea.. A train goes by nightly. sometimes twice or three times a night. but normally just once. low and rumbling. its very soothing. and if your on the edge of sleep by the time it comes.. believe me. nothing could put you out better =)

Looks like a calm comfortable place you have there! I have a train that passes by here nightly too. At first it woke me up all the time but now I think I couldn't sleep without it.

What a beautiful old house!!! I love the porches!

Your idea of planting more trees, paths, benches, etc. sounds wonderful. But if your way out there in the country I'm guessing you have a septic tank and not city sewage. Make sure you plant far away from it. My in-laws had a lot of problems with tree roots in thier drainage pipe. And you mention willows, they are the worst! Talk to some people knowledgeable about septic systems & tree roots before you start.

TY for sharing. I really enjoyed it.

Teddy Bear you are correct about the septic system and trees. They are notorious for shutting a system down. My husband and myself owned a septic tank company (repairing old systems and installing new). My suggestion is to plant a flower bed above it. ;)

we are on city sewage. And all 3.. yes 3 of the old septic tanks have been removed =) so there's nothing to fret about.

Hell? That's beautiful! Population density there . . . so low! Here . . . so high! :D
