Pasted?

PantyFanatic 09-13-2015 12:12 PM

:roflmao:
That was suppose to be passed, which is still the wrong word for PAST.

(see what having dirt shoveled onto your face does to you)

Oldfart 09-13-2015 06:50 PM

You clod! :)

I had to continue the dirt theme.

Is that dirt on drugs ... you know ... potting soil? :spin:

Sorry for you and your family's loss Lilith.

Lilith 09-14-2015 07:00 PM

My cervix is trying to kill me.

Thanks BiBi his service was lovely.

dicksbro 09-15-2015 12:41 AM

Finally got my backyard mowed yesterday and even cleaned up the first batch of leaves that are just starting to fall. :) Harbinger of what is soon to come. :(

gekkogecko 09-15-2015 04:32 AM

Did you rake them int a big pile, then jump in?

So many leaves, so few explosives.

It's a slow day.

dicksbro 09-16-2015 02:41 AM

No pile ... no jumping in ... the lawn mower ate them and stuck them in a bag. :(

Darn, as a kid I remember how much fun we had jumping in piles of leaves or just hearing them crunch as we walked along a leaf covered path. Those were the good ol' days!

So, just rake the explosives into a big pile, and jump into that. For extra excitement, include blasting caps in the pile.

dicksbro 09-18-2015 06:22 AM

A week ago we had a power outage that ended up taking most of the day to fix. This morning, we had another (result of a heavy rain storm) but fortunately power was back in in about three hours.

gekkogecko 09-18-2015 06:56 AM

Tomorrow is International Talk Like a Pirate Day!

http://www.talklikeapirate.com/

And they're extending it to the entire weekend, since it's on a Saturday.

Oldfart 09-18-2015 08:05 AM

Are it?

dicksbro 09-18-2015 11:57 PM

Arrrg! Shiver me timbers. It'll be a short walk on the gangplank ... Red Beard done broke da' board, me laddies.

Lord Snow 09-19-2015 01:02 AM

Well, I hopefully got the algae problem in my fish tank under control. Turns out there was a lot of crap in the canister filter. I also managed to wash the dog, and clean the bathroom. I still have some laundry to take care of and make the bed.

Burning leaves! :D
I remember the smell of burning leaves in the air when everyone raked their tiny city lot leaves into the red brick street and burned them. Now outlawed many years ago. :( That smell is one of those neck snapping triggers to see where it's coming from for me. Every time I see one of those 'scented candle' booths in the store I look to see if someone has come up with that scent. Not yet! :tear:

Lilith 09-19-2015 01:25 PM

People still burn leaves in my neighborhood.

dicksbro 09-20-2015 03:34 AM

You're lucky, Lilith ... one of life's pleasures preserved. ;)

Lord Snow 09-20-2015 06:41 AM

I prefer the smell of burning cedar myself.

gekkogecko 09-20-2015 08:53 AM

Aromatic woods-cedar, pine, etc-are toxic to reptiles. Bad thing to sue as substrate.

Lord Snow 09-20-2015 04:47 PM

I'd probably go with your suggestion of rolled oats as substrate for a lizard.

dicksbro 09-22-2015 01:17 AM

Visited out friend at the hospice yesterday for a couple of hours. She was in good spirits and the day was beautiful. The folks moved her bed out into a beautifully landscaped area so she could enjoy the sun and fresh air. Wish I could magically make everything better, but, I'm just glad for the time we get to share with her and her husband now.

Lilith 09-23-2015 08:14 AM

STO would have been 43 today.

gekkogecko 09-23-2015 08:41 AM

Yeow, forgot he was so much younger than me.

dicksbro 10-05-2015 01:09 AM

I think today will be a bit nicer than the past couple. They were rather chilly and windy.

By the way, if you want to see a good movie ... Matt Damon is terrific in Martian!!

gekkogecko 10-05-2015 06:53 AM

I have to echo the note about The Martian. Great stuff, even with the stupidity near the end. (Wont' g into detail. No spoilers here.)

Oldfart 10-06-2015 06:53 AM

The Martian is a rollicking good fairy tale, well worth the dollars. It's a big screen movie, it will suffer on the small screen.

gekkogecko 10-07-2015 02:14 PM

And I"m told the 3-D version is slightly better, although if you have a problem with 3-D stuff, you won't miss anything on the 2-D screen.

dicksbro 10-09-2015 02:36 AM

I think we're going to see PAN this weekend. I wonder if in live action it'll be as good as the recent Cinderella was. They did a fantastic job on it. I'll let you know what we think of it.

gekkogecko 10-09-2015 06:17 AM

About to take off to help run another s/f con. This time, it's Capclave ( http://www.capclave.org/capclave/capclave15/ ), and I get to coordinate the con suite.

dicksbro 10-10-2015 03:11 AM

Hope you have a great time!

gekkogecko 10-10-2015 08:12 PM

Not a great time for equipment: my girlfriend's car broke down (fortunately, she was at home at the time, so at least she's not stuck somewhere), my wife's scooter broke down, so she's having trouble getting around the con, and I managed to loose my favorite hat. All of these are recoverable, of course, but irritating in the meantime, until the situation is rectified.

jseal 10-11-2015 04:43 AM

Off to work soon to help complete the project deployment into production.

dicksbro 10-12-2015 01:03 AM

Yesterday was beautiful and I got a lot done outside and today is suppose to be good, too, so maybe I'll make more progress. I hope anyway.

Oh, BTW, Pan was very good. Kind of a prequel ... showing how the Peter Pan, Capt. Hook and all the others got their start. Interesting take on an old children's story.

Busy summer outdoors. Now to finish the last of summer's chores and unwind with an adult beverage by the woodstove.
