Truth but I'm also putting my youngest kiddo through college too.

gigi 02-02-2015 04:59 PM

Money can't buy happiness but it's more comfortable to cry in a Lexus than on a bicycle. :)

dicksbro 02-03-2015 12:44 AM

You're right ... it can't buy happiness, but it does make the un-happiness more fun to deal with. :)

gekkogecko 02-04-2015 10:31 AM

Money can buy happiness only when Lilith turns professional Domme.

The PHD would pander to your desire for independent acknowledgement that you're not some bimbo Texan transplant in Florida.

You are happy where you are doing things which impact the lives of thousands and they force money on you to do it.

Is the grant conditional?

Lilith 02-05-2015 07:37 PM

Starts in may. I'd have to teach and research and write over the next 4 years. Now or never.

Oldfart 02-05-2015 09:39 PM

Tough call.

Ship I sailed on to Germany back in 1947; the Daniel Sultan.

Oldfart 02-06-2015 02:45 AM

Better than an early Liberty ship, DB.

dicksbro 02-06-2015 02:52 AM

Interesting enough, in 1958 when we came back from Japan, we missed sailing on the Sultan again. It was scheduled to dock in Yokohama a week after we left. Instead, we came back on the William Mitchell. It set a record (for the Mitchell) in making the best time ever from Yokohama to Seattle. :)

Lilith 02-07-2015 07:14 PM

I am planning a vacation

dicksbro 02-09-2015 02:17 AM

I've got some errands to run this morning.

Oh, that's so weird.

Today my nephew hit 40 years old. Pretty good considering the dude is a survivor of congenital cancer.

WOW! Congratulations FlirtWithMe!

That's terrific news and here's the very best to you and your new husband! He's a
very lucky guy to get such a terrific and lovely lady as his bride. God bless you both!

Cyberdude26 02-15-2015 02:29 AM

Congratulations, FHM.

Lord Snow 02-16-2015 06:50 PM

Because of the lovely freezing rain/sleet/snow we received today, work for me has been cancelled. After sliding around where the grass used to be (I think it's under the ice) I can see why.

dicksbro 02-17-2015 02:19 AM

LS, just be careful. Been worried for all of the folks that have been plagued by severe weather. Even here, where it hasn't been nearly so bad, I know of several people that have taken spills ... some with some nasty ol' cuts, scrapes and bruises. :(

Lord Snow 02-17-2015 03:33 AM

I'm originally from CT. Walking on ice is an art I'm quite familiar with. Unfortunately, I moved south long before I learned how to drive. Handling that I'd rather not attempt. I may be crazy when it comes to some things, but I'm not stupid.

gekkogecko 02-17-2015 01:23 PM

I'm with you for the most part LS. although I will state this: if you're facing ice (or worse, snow on top of ice), you're better off not trying to drive. A lot of people learned to drive on snow. Ain't nobody but Zamboni drivers who learned to drive on ice. and look how slow they really go.

Me, too, Scotz!

Oldfart 02-18-2015 06:02 AM

The driver here on ice are drug addicts.

gekkogecko 02-18-2015 10:06 AM

The offspring unit hit 27 today.

PantyFanatic 02-18-2015 10:08 AM

^^^ that's because they don't know 'where to keep their furnace'

PantyFanatic 02-18-2015 10:14 AM

The best thing for GG & LS is that they KNOW :car: on ice and snow is quite different. We have a lot of folks here that don't seem to get that concept. :banghead:

btw:
Great line GG. It will become classic. :line:

PantyFanatic 02-18-2015 10:26 AM

And for FWM .....

CONGRATULATION

(VERY LUCKY GUY :thumb: )

dicksbro 02-19-2015 12:59 AM

PantyFanatic 07-18-2015 05:07 PM

It's JULY!

I'm not looking for tomorrow that's going to be in the 90's (F) again :hot: but if you want to see tomorrow, stay away from me.

jaf 07-18-2015 06:25 PM

Feeling beat tired & ready for bed. I'm a real Saturday night party animal for an 830p on a Saturday.

dicksbro 07-21-2015 11:32 PM

A bit warm this morning although not quite as bad as it had been. It'll sure be nice to get our new heat pump (air conditioner) back again Thursday morning.
