jseal,

How close did the twister come to your place?

No damage to you and dearone, we trust.

shadowsfate 06-02-2012 07:08 PM

Just coming home from spending most of the day with my kids. The drive to see them and the hour and a half sitting in uncomfortable seats about killed my back completely but was well worth it in exchange to being able to one of my daughter's dance recitals. Very proud of both my kids, just wish I was able to see them more often.

We were OK. Some folks we know out in Western Maryland had a bit of a scare, though. She posted about it on her Facebook page/wall/cliff... whatever.

Lilith 06-06-2012 05:22 PM

I'm off for summer vacation :yippee:

PantyFanatic 06-06-2012 07:00 PM

And you know where you have to go. ;)

gekkogecko 06-06-2012 07:13 PM

Blech! In just over two months, I hit 50.

Better than not making it to 50, GG. Celebrate!

It's amazing how much being over 50 resembles being under 50. It's only significant if you make it so.

sodaklostsoul 06-06-2012 08:47 PM

Got freaked out the other night when I went to garage to get clothes from dryer and found a guy in there. Turned the light on and there he was. I yelled "who the hell are you" as I started backing out the door, then I started yelling for my Nephew. Guy ran out and around neighbor's. Sis called police but they didn't see him anywhere. What makes me mad is that for as loud as I can yell not one of the neighbors poked their head out the door to see what was going on.

Next time I yell FIRE!!!!! :)

dicksbro 06-07-2012 04:35 AM

That is down right scary, soda. Was the garage door open? I think I'd be tempted to keep them closed and locked.

More effective if you're standing next to a squad of riflemen.

Little door was unlocked on fenced in side, he had to go thru the gate.

Sounds like an argument for some panic alarms.

There are a number of small devices (half the size of a cigarette pack) which scream loudly when a pin is pulled. They can be put into handbags so that if the bag is grabbed, the alarm goes off and the bag becomes an embarassment.

They're only about 10 bucks each.

Lord Snow 06-07-2012 07:26 PM

There a few easy to install do it yourself home alarm kits out there. Protect America is monitored and fairly easy to install. A buddy of mine has it.

gekkogecko 06-08-2012 07:42 AM

I'm off to northern Maryland for a bit over a week. Not sure of the connectivity, so I may or may not be back in the interim.

jseal 06-08-2012 04:12 PM

Have fun!

Oldfart 06-08-2012 07:15 PM

. . . and take lots of pictures.

Oldfart 06-08-2012 10:48 PM

I am so over text-enhance. Every time my curser passes over an enhanced word, a bloody mini-window opens.

Lilith 06-09-2012 06:41 AM

I am going on a great California adventure next week to celebrate Mr. Lil and I not murdering each other after 25 years. PF is not in charge.

Let me repeat PF is NOT in charge while I am awol. No one is required to mail him anything. No one is required to send him pics or panties in order to post. His authority only goes as far as his own pants.

Oldfart 06-09-2012 07:17 AM

. . . and his post.

I haven't laughed so hard in a while. Duly noted, however. :roflmao:

Oh FFS Lilith. What are you trying to say?

Lord Snow 06-09-2012 05:15 PM

The motor is out of the ranchero. Now to start the rebuilding process.

AZRedHot 06-09-2012 05:50 PM

How many times have you rebuilt that automobile, m'lord?

Lord Snow 06-09-2012 06:07 PM

This will be the first time the motor has been taking out by me. I'm going to replace the oil pump, water pump, timing chain, reseal the whole motor from bottom to top, I have the heads at shop getting worked (hopefully it will be done soon). I'm even thinking about repainting the block while it's out.

AZRedHot 06-09-2012 06:29 PM

That sounds a lot like work.

AZRedHot 06-09-2012 07:08 PM

I think I got my laptop working again. I don't know what possessed it this last week, but thank goodness for restore disks and Time Machine.

Lord Snow 06-09-2012 08:35 PM

It's well worth the work in my eyes. I'm sure if you found a beautiful classic guitar that needed a bit of tlc (rather than just a new set of strings) you'd go forward with a loving hand.

You are mistaken; I have enough trouble playing the guitar without having a problem instrument to contend with. :D

Must be a guy thing; I can't play a guitar w/o having had my hands all up inside it at some point :yikes:

Lord Snow 06-10-2012 06:03 AM

I doubt you have any troubles playing guitar AZ.

I think there's a tinkering/fiddling gene on the Y chromosome. If there's a button, guys gotta press it. If it makes noise, they have to make it do the noise. Mr. AZRH cannot get into my car (the rare occasions when I'm driving) and not open the glove box, turn on the light, and fiddle with the radio.

And that is the illusion I strive to create. ;)

Lilith 06-10-2012 08:17 PM

I made fudge. I plan to take it down with me when I visit my folks Tuesday.
