Like you, one time I told one of the kids a half truth to spare their feelings. They knew better and I admitted what I'd done. I really felt bad that I hadn't been totally honest in the first place.

You'd have to, wouldn't you? I'm a terrible procrastinator so I'd try to "train" my kids into feeling good about finishing things early.

No, I can't say that we would have done that. Last two (boys) were "accidents." Wouldn't trade them, but they definitely weren't planned. :D
