Oldfart 04-02-2012 09:57 PM

And you didn't ask M and I?

Lilith 04-02-2012 09:58 PM

We'd have loved to have doubled. It was canned Sinatra, live swing band and great choreography. Not a talkie though.

Oldfart 04-03-2012 05:48 PM

That's OK, M is.

Lilith 04-03-2012 06:11 PM

Ha ha. One of my fave things about her. That and her taste in men ;)

AZRedHot 04-03-2012 11:36 PM

I got a goose egg for a tip today. Literally.

Oldfart 04-04-2012 12:28 AM

What do you do with one goose egg, or shouldn't I ask?

It was suggested I fry it. So tomorrow that's what I'm going to do and serve it to Mr. AZRH and myself for breakfast.

Oldfart 04-04-2012 01:48 AM

A goose egg's about 2 hen's eggs, if I remember. Either that or a duck. Now I'm lost again.

PantyFanatic 04-07-2012 07:59 AM

It looks like only Larry,DB Curley OFand Moe PF are signed in right now.

Lord Snow 04-07-2012 08:18 AM

I got a new phone yesterday. The Droid Razr.

And I broke the grill on my ranchero last night. A guy ran out of gas on the off ramp so I pushed him. Unfortunately his pick up sat a little higher than my front bumper at that angle.

jseal 04-07-2012 08:21 AM

^^ Looks very nice! ^^

AZRedHot 04-08-2012 12:07 AM

Just discovered Holmes/Watson slash fiction. It's delicious. :)

I don't think so...

dicksbro 04-08-2012 04:17 AM

Went out and read a couple of the stories, AZ. Very good. I'll have to read some more later.

Yeah, I liked them. The writers tried to stay true to original style, and they're a bit more literary--yet still hot. I like that. And I'm a big Holmes fan.

Both my wife and I love Holmes, too. We especially enjoyed Jeremy Britt as Sherlock, but, also Basil Rathbone. Both were terrific in their own way.

Have you seen the latest incarnation, modernized, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, on PBS? We thought it was really good, and can't wait for the next series to make it across the pond (it's a BBC production).

Also, if you haven't already read them, allow me to recommend Laurie R. King's Mary Russell series to you and your missus, starting with The Beekeeper's Apprentice. Holmes meets his match in Russell, and the books are great--true to the original style, tone, and personality, but they have their own charm, too. I love them--just reread the whole set (there are like 10 of them now).

dicksbro 04-10-2012 02:56 AM

Thanks for the head's up!

Easter Sunday, my wife and I met our daughter and her husband for lunch, and, on the way home, I just happened to notice our Oldsmobile's mileage turned to ...

151515

Hadn't expected it and if I'd glanced a few seconds later, it would have passed by.

Not earth-shattering, just kind of neat. :)

Oldfart 04-10-2012 07:54 AM

151515?

The number of times I haven't been to the gym this year?

Damn that's a coincidence.

Lilith 04-10-2012 09:20 PM

My baby will be 16 tomorrow and I made these crazy coco-nilla filled and frosted cupcakes. I hope he likes.

Aqua 04-10-2012 10:24 PM

Something's wrong here... You're still 29 and I'm 23 ( :p ) yet your youngest is 16 and my kiddo just turned 19. Illogical!

Oldfart 04-11-2012 12:06 AM

Folks start early in the upyonder, it appears. VERY early.

dicksbro 04-11-2012 04:00 AM

They probably thought someone was saying, "Bye, bye, car, car."

Fangtasia 04-11-2012 04:23 AM

the lymph nodes behind my ears are swollen and bloody sore. My neck/shoulders/arms are stiff. Headache. Generally feel like crap. I got something going on here!

Bloody hell!

dicksbro 04-11-2012 04:43 AM

We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers, Fangtasia! Just take care of yourself.

It took 3 Bagsters to clean out 30+ yrs of crap from our mini barn.

The sad part is we still have another mini barn to clean out as well.

Lilith 04-26-2012 10:39 PM

People have to live with the consequences of their choices.

Oldfart 04-26-2012 11:38 PM

We have had a number of high profile cases recently where people have done stupidly dangerous things resulting in injury and death whose excuse is "But I never meant anybody to be hurt" or such.

The concept of cause and effect is lost on these oxygen thieves.
