I know that PantyFanatic and Lord Snow will like this, but for anyone who needs a good sharp utility knife, this is the one.

I bought one in 2009 and have given it a caning since. It's still good.

I'm not really one for razor knives. I'll stick with my little buck pocket knife

Oldfart 12-19-2011 10:12 PM

I gave up on Buck after they shifted their manufacturing offshore.

Lord Snow 12-20-2011 09:55 PM

Well if I could afford Cold Steel all my knives would be replaced by them. I have their magnum kukri machete and love it.

Fangtasia 12-20-2011 10:14 PM

I'm chowing down on vegemite saladas...nom nom nom!!

Oldfart 12-20-2011 10:51 PM

I've started mixing Vegemite 50/50 with Western Star spreadable. (It would work with straight marg as well). Straight from the jar to the SAO.

I'm still looking for a 20" cutlass.

AZRedHot 12-21-2011 10:34 AM

Spent way more on shipping Christmas gifts than I intended to.

I think Case is the last domestic producer here. :tear:

I've started mixing Vegemite 50/50 with gun powder to make the Vegemite less volatile.

Cold Steel has a variety of sabers and a 1917 cutlass, but it has a 25" blade and is 29 5/8" overall. However, they do have a latin machete that has a 21" balde. What you could also do is contact a forge and see about having one custom made. It will cost more to do it that way, but you'll also get exactly what you're looking for. I would suggest Baltimore Knife & Sword, but they're here in the states.

Oldfart 12-21-2011 06:54 PM

The cutlass was originally a tool for use by shore-parties, a multitool axe and machete.

What kind of cutlass are you looking for?The traditional pirate style, the curved arab style, what style of point for the blade? Each culture seems to have had a short sword they called a cutlass and they vary in looks and stlye a lot.

Lord Snow 12-21-2011 09:40 PM

You have a very good point jay-t. Though some of those cutlasses are now widely considered sabers instead.

Oldfart 12-21-2011 11:06 PM

I'm sure jay-t has many good points.

I'm thinking of a gently curving, even width (about an inch and a half), semi-circular tipped sword with a two piece timber handle and brass knuckle guard. It waould be about 1/8" thick on the blade.

This is your latest sex toy, OF ?

Oldfart 12-22-2011 05:31 PM

It could be.

Whatever you hit with it would be fucked.

PantyFanatic 12-22-2011 11:09 PM

They say it's all about location, location, location.

Christchurch is beginning to believe that. :yikes:

scotzoidman 12-22-2011 11:20 PM

I believe hearing one more cheesy version of "I'll Be Home For Christmas" will be the one that makes me go postal. :banghead:

AZRedHot 12-23-2011 01:00 AM

I love Johnny Mathis' version of that one. ^^

I'd been across the ditch to NZ a couple of times, spending a couple of days in Christchurch each time. It was a very pretty city, almost postcard stuff.

Damn shame.

Fangtasia 12-23-2011 09:58 PM

Picked up a new vid card for my puter, i've been having trouble with the old for a little while, it had now got to the point it crashed whenever i played high end graphics games, causing the tower to get stuck in a loop and the monitor go to sleep like the tower had turned off. <---- That coupled with constant graphics card recoveries while just surfing or basic stuff.

New one now - Woooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooo. Gonna go try play my new game now, and it had BETTER work!!

jseal 12-23-2011 10:00 PM

Good Luck!

dicksbro 12-24-2011 01:41 AM

We're going to get together with our daughter and her family in Peoria this afternoon. Looking forward to that.

Oldfart 12-24-2011 06:27 AM

Christmas Eve's done for us this year. It's 9PM and we're crashing in preparation for The Day.

See you all on Christmas.

Fangtasia 12-24-2011 07:29 AM

I know you've had troubles in the past with the graphics. Good thing they give you warning when everything comes out yellow.

Oldfart 12-24-2011 06:06 PM

Merry Christmas everyone.

The day's a third over already, the reindeer footsteps have faded from the clouds and the over-eating begins.
