County fair in town until Saturday. Been fun so far.

Lord Snow 08-18-2011 04:43 PM

I have poison ivy and it's made my leg swell up. I hate this crap.

AZRedHot 08-18-2011 11:49 PM

Sorry to hear that, m'lord. Need some help with your calamine lotion?

Fangtasia 08-19-2011 02:25 AM

Walked outta work to head home...flat tyre! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

dicksbro 08-19-2011 03:17 AM

Don't worry, it's only flat on the bottom, fangtasia. :)

Looking forward to a couple of Pixies coming to town this afternoon.

Actually what I probably need is a shot of steroids in my ass and some heavy duty antihistamines. What I have is caladryl and benadryl.

FlirtWithMe 08-19-2011 04:10 PM

Lord Snow vinegar can help with the itching. It stings like hell, but the itching should subside until you can get hold of antihistamines.

I had a good day at work today.

Lord Snow 08-19-2011 05:58 PM

I have the benadryl, just got out of a epsom salt bath, and reapplied my caladryl. Hopefully this will help.

dicksbro 08-20-2011 04:34 AM

The Peoria Chiefs (baseball) won last night 8-2 :line:. Wonderful fireworks display after the game. I told Scarecrow and Mrs. King that had we lost, it would have been a ladyfinger and two sparklers. :)

Mr. AZRH caught a baby gecko in the shower the other evening. I snapped a couple of pix before I set him free. You can see how tiny he is compared to the plate.

PantyFanatic 08-21-2011 07:19 AM

Neat AZ.

gekkogecko 08-21-2011 10:45 AM

Oooooooooooooooooo.

*is having a cute overload*

Oldfart 08-21-2011 08:20 PM

It wouldn't look out of place here, except the colours are a little strong.

dicksbro 08-22-2011 04:19 AM

A great weekend is unfortunately over. :(

But, there'll be another one day! :)

AZRedHot 08-22-2011 10:41 PM

Just got off the phone with my high school crush. I don't think he ever knew, or knows now. But I'd still do him. :)

dicksbro 08-23-2011 04:09 AM

It has been since July 11th I have fought to get test results and referrals in place so my Most Honorable #2 Son can see a hematologist at a university hospital in my state. Today I was told they hope to have it all set up tomorrow. Really. Really.

Lord Snow 08-23-2011 07:44 PM

Better late than never?

It was a really shitty day. I could go into detail, but then I'd be here for an hour ranting and I'm not going to waste your good time.

So glad to hear it. Navigating the medical industry is enough to enrage even the most placid soul, especially, I imagine, when you're a mom and it's your baby you're trying to help. Keeping my fingers crossed on all counts for MHS2 and your family.

dicksbro 08-24-2011 02:21 AM

Went out to a place called "Wildlife Prairie State Park" yesterday to do my walking. Got in about a mile but it was threatening rain so I stopped briefly at their gift shop. Sure enough, I came out and felt a drip or two, so got in my car and started home (about 25-30 miles). Then, the floodgates opened. Traffic on the Interstate was down to 40 - 45 mph. Got to Morton, it let up a bit and I thought I was going to get into the house without getting too wet. Ha! Just as I opened the door the clouds let loose again. :(

gekkogecko 08-24-2011 08:51 AM

braaaaaaaaiiiins!

I have lots of good time as I quit my job today. Ranting always makes me feel better. :)

Great, the Lizard has gone feral. I'll shoot him before he hurts someone. LOL.

I can't a shoot an animal. People are okay, but not animals. LOL

Oldfart 08-24-2011 09:57 PM

I just watched The Time Tunnel 2002 pilot episode.

If you plan to watch this, look away, as this is a major spoiler.

The plot centres on an intervention team sent back to WW2 to save the future.

They go back in US army clothing. Two of the team are women, one a Negro.

No-one bats an eyelid, even though there were no female frontline combat troops in WW2,

and even more visibly, combat troops were segregated.

Is this sanitising history, or ignorance of the same?

AZRedHot 08-25-2011 01:50 AM

I suspect that by sending back the team, they necessarily altered the space-time continuum such that they changed WWII irrevocably, including the acceptance of heretofore banned combat personnel. Time travel: it'll fuck things up considerably.

:D

dicksbro 08-25-2011 05:34 AM

If Dr Who will let them.

Have you been watching Torchwood?

No, sir. Should I be?

And also, do you know why DB is fainting? Shall we administer smelling salts?

dicksbro 08-25-2011 11:33 AM

It's quite simple. As the Mock Toad said in Alice in Wonderland, "Reeling and Writhing, of course, to begin with, and then the different branches of arithmetic -- Ambition, Distraction, Uglification, and Derision.

Well, I never heard it before, but it sounds uncommon nonsense." :spin:

Oldfart 08-25-2011 06:11 PM

I suspect that Torchwood would appeal to you. It started light and easy, and has developed darker and darker.

jbh3 08-25-2011 08:12 PM

Waiting for Irene .
