Well, that bike would definitely keep a woman in her seat no matter how bumpy the ride.

AZRedHot 05-07-2011 02:27 PM

If I could get an office chair with that setup, it'd be skirts every day and a smile on my face, disgruntled employee no more! :D

Lilith 05-07-2011 05:41 PM

Perhaps a PM to those members you are missing to let them know of the celebration would be a good idea. Everyone likes to be invited to a homecoming!

Lord Snow 05-07-2011 09:18 PM

Tonight seems a good night to get a little drunk. Goldschlager to the rescue!

wanderingsoul 05-07-2011 09:38 PM

I'm back after a long hiatus and I'm just wondering where everyone went???

dicksbro 05-08-2011 04:02 AM

I think they're all out looking for you.

Seriously ... welcome back. Glad to see ya!

I found this in a motorcar museum in New Zealand.

Does anyone know what this is and what it's use is?

It looks like a spark plug with a tap attached. Weird.

That would be a

Champion X “primer cup” spark plug :) used in Ford Model T

Oldfart 05-11-2011 01:21 AM

Thanks Fang. Do we know the function of the "tap"?

Google just answered. Again, many thanks.

dicksbro 05-11-2011 04:08 AM

Kinda' like an automotive electrical faucet. :)

Oldfart 05-11-2011 04:44 AM

I wondered if it was a way to depressure individual cylinders, but it's just a priming device.

I would be

impressed! Very good, lady.

My first guess was it being a plug for some manner of gas fueled (non-carburetored) combustion engine such as propane.

Oldfart 05-11-2011 07:57 AM

One of our group thought it may be for coal-gas fired vehicles from WW11.

That sounds like the two bureaucrats with one telling us they have taken over and have the situation totally under control with all their resources being brought to bear and everything that needs to be done is underway, ...... while the other one screws the light bulb into the faucet.

coal-gas = methane?

Fangtasia 05-11-2011 06:36 PM

I do like to search things out *L* I knew it was definately a spark plug, nothing like modern ones, so looked up Antique spark plugs

I found the info HERE

Oldfart 05-11-2011 07:16 PM

PF,

Coal gas is a mix of hydrogen, CO and Methane, originally a by-product of coking coal for steelmaking. It was in use in Sydney up to the 70s, where it was bypassed largely by "natural gas" a topped petroleum gas.

In Britain during WW11, some civvy service vehicles were converted to run on coal gas (usually held in balloons attached to the roof of the vehicle). They were mainly delivery vehicles whose routes exceeded their fuel rations, but some doctors etc had them fitted to their cars.

Well spotted and researched Fang.

AZRedHot 05-15-2011 12:49 AM

I had an exhausting day, and I don't even know why. But I'm wiped.

GusAspar 05-15-2011 01:16 AM

A friend gave me some red orach plants and I need to get down to my allotment to get them planted.

If you're ready, it's ready.

Lord Snow 05-17-2011 06:47 PM

Fang, there is nothing wrong with being a pic whore. Especially if they're photos you can share here.

AZ, I'm sure your song is terrific. I would say sing it and see about having a recorder of some kind so that you can play it back to here any changes you might need to make. No matter what I'm sure you'll kill them at the open mic night.

AZRedHot 05-17-2011 08:12 PM

Thanks, gents. Always appreciate the vote of confidence. :kisser:

Fangtasia 05-17-2011 08:55 PM

The lens is for macro photography, which i really love and want to explore more. :D

PantyFanatic 05-17-2011 10:01 PM

What you've done with macro so far has been fantastic. :thumb:

(but dressing a poor guy up in silly clothes and taking his picture doesn't count :hair: )
