Tell me about three of the most influential people in your youth ~ other than your parents?

One of my youth group leaders - he taught be about having fun and being honest with myself.

The General Camp Director. He remained distant from most of the day to day events, but he listened and knew what was going on. He looked at people when they talked, and gave advise only when asked.

A Program Director and then friend. He gave me an opertunity to develop my leadership skills. He took a chance. He walked with me, helping, but not telling or doing.

I have tried to take a bit from each of them and develop them into who I am today.

why engineering?

I was trying to ensure my future ~ engineering promised a job and a good salary. Not a bad deal for the daughter of a deceased journalist and a teacher. I wanted to make sure I'd never be hungry.
