What the hell am I doing here?

Maddening, no? What are you using? |

I dunno ... but it's a good place to do it. :) |
Teachers were called "human capital" in a powerpoint about Race to the Top made by my school district.

A Tascam US-144 MKII, a Rode NT1-A, and my Windows 7 PC. I was having some noise issues and I resolved that with new drivers. Now it records input from the mic intermittently, even though I still hear the output in my headphones. :banghead: |
Ding dong my phone is gone. It died and won't charge. Kind of sucks since I've been pretty much without a phone for 24 hrs. and won't get the replacement until tomorrow evening.
|
Phone, charger or battery?
|

Boy, I bet that made you feel special. And you got to experience a powerpoint, too. Did they at least have snacks??? |

Maybe a bad mic cable? Or a bad USB...didja slam it in a drawer perchance? No drawer slamming, but I'll try a different cable. |
They deemed it was the phone itself Oldfart. It wouldn't charge on my car or wall chargers so I know it wasn't those. I was prepared to buy a new battery, but wanted confirmation before I spent 40.00 on one.
|
So long as you end up with one that works.
|
Well, it's visit the shut-in's day. I think I've got seven to visit this morning. With the temp at -9F and the wind chill at -17, it'd be easy not to go. But, I always enjoy the visits and the chance to spend some time with some pretty incredible people. :)

Only one problem with that PF, it would take a week to get here supposing they have my battery on ebay. What to do until then?
|
You only had ONE? :wobbly:
|
They only issue one battery and my other phone got donated to the military. Thought that would be a better use than me keeping it around.
I can say, I am not happy. The person I dealt with a the store said "we will ship you a new phone", they sent a refurbished. It did not come with a battery, so I couldn't try charging the new one on the way home form having to pick it up at the FedEx place. It's the same model, but appears to be a previous generation. This thing better work or I'm going to be raising hell. |
I'd be calling up with some complaint action, LS. If they're going to replace it they should send at least the same generation of that model and include a battery.
|
We'll give it the rest of the night to see if it charges up fully. If I wake up and the phone is dead, well......There might be a couple down at my phone company that will be the same way......or at the very least wish they were.

After some inconveniences with my first cell I've made it a habit to have a spare, charged, battery ready most of the time. After I found what have been as good as the original at a fraction of the retail phone store price, I now carry a backup with me and also have one in the charger to become the backup when the drained one rotates into the charger. It's proved to be flawless reliable a few time when extended use would have had me running for a power source somewhere. Especially when I was able to get a desk/caddy charger with a slot for the extra battery and two batteries for less than $20USD, (delivered!). |
If you have one nearby, Interstate Batteries may well have extra batteries available and their prices aren't too bad. Worth a try.
PF, I like your idea on extras. We do that with our camera batteries, but I hadn't given thought to doing it with phone batteries. Thanks. |
It charged to 100% over night, so this verifies that it was the phone and not the battery. It seems that they discontinued my phone, so the only way I'll get a new is if I upgrade which I can't do till December I think. Hopefully this one lasts that long. Now I have to ship the old one back, fortunately with a prepaid box slip.

Weekend chores are a pain in the ass!

Went and looked at a 1975 ranchero today. Unfortunately, it's not what I'm looking for in a project and not worth the price they were asking. Bright side, there were a lot of really nice curvy roads that would be great on the bike.

Oil change day for our Oldsmobile. Seems to happen about every three months.
:) |
I have to put my craptacular car through MARTA and register it.
|
Why not save yoruself the trouble, and put it through the car crusher instead?
|
Because until further notice, I have no warm mode of transportation.

Jimmy Buffet fell off the stage during his finale in Sydney last night.
There was no evidence that he'd been to Margaritaville during intermission. Here's how it went down:- http://www.tmz.com/videos/?mediaKey...isShareURL=true |
The gas valve went out on our furnace and can't get one till tomorrow (on order) and it will be about 25 tonite :banghead: :banghead:
