A recent joint study conducted by the RTA and the Department of Health indicates that 23% of traffic accidents are alcohol related. This means that the remaining 77% are caused by arseholes who just drink coffee, carbonated drinks, pure water, juices, yogurt, and shit like that.

Therefore, beware of those who do not drink alcohol. They cause three times as many deadly car accidents.

This message is sent to you by someone who worries about your well being.

Only in New Zealand.

A drunk New Zealander hijacked a Mr Whippy van at knifepoint then hurled ice creams at passers-by during a vanilla and alcohol-fuelled rampage, reports said.

Joseph David Banks, 21, admitted running amok in the North Island town of Hastings last week, but was so drunk he could not remember the incident, the Hawke's Bay Today newspaper reported.

Court documents showed that on the evening of December 7, Banks armed himself with a butcher's knife and threatened the life of a woman holding her young child on the street, before crawling into a nearby Mr Whippy truck.

The unemployed man then used the van's facilities to make soft serve ice creams and throw them at people on the footpath.

When police confronted Banks, the ice cream van bandit refused to cool down and resisted arrest until back-up arrived.

Banks pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a series of charges, including threatening to kill, resisting police, disorderly behaviour and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was remanded in custody for sentencing on Friday.

I've just started this cold and I'm already tired of it.

Neige 12-15-2010 09:17 PM

I really really really want to hope for the nearly impossible.

Oldfart 12-16-2010 12:22 AM

There is nothing to stop you hoping for the impossible, or even the improbable.

Noah 12-16-2010 01:27 AM

AZRedHot 12-16-2010 01:35 AM

Tie dye is awesome. I don't care what anyone says.

dicksbro 12-16-2010 04:33 AM

Spring and summer warmth definitely is better than winter cold (and we're not even to winter yet. :( )

There is a spider on the ceiling and for the last 2 hours it has been going in circles around the room. (It will die soon!)

Lord Snow 12-16-2010 04:43 PM

You do know that killing spiders is bad luck right?

Fangtasia 12-16-2010 04:50 PM

Yeah...bad luck for the spider

Only good one is a dead one

Oldfart 12-16-2010 05:42 PM

Absolutely.

Work has been a terrible bear the past two weeks... and doesn't look to be any easier anytime soon.

jay-t 12-16-2010 09:08 PM

After having to work 10 to 14 hrs a day for the last 6 months, really looking forward to 2 weeks off at Christmas

Lord Snow 12-16-2010 09:55 PM

As a French colleague of mine one told me over a bottle of wine in Lyon:
"I love to fuck!"

Lord Snow 12-18-2010 11:43 PM

I'm drinking on an extremely empty stomach. Shouldn't take much to get me drunk as a skunk.

Fangtasia 12-19-2010 12:39 AM

One way out of town is blocked, bridge has gone under water.

Lilith 12-19-2010 12:35 PM

My inlaws will be here in an hour. I have made a fabulous spread- good Italian cured sausages, Iberico, Gouda, and cinnamon/cranberry encrusted goat cheese, crackers, toast points and olive tampenade, pumpkin dip, apple slices, and German ginger snaps, and pistachios.

VaBeast 12-19-2010 01:55 PM

I'm nearly done with my Christmas shopping and decided to stay home and make a big pot of chili.

Been a "movie weekend" for my wife and I. Went and watch "Yogi Bear" yesterday and "Narnia" today. Both were great. Yogi (if your a fan from your younger days) was very cute and very enjoyable. Captured the original spirit of the cartoons very well.

Narnia, as might be expected, was a big budget, well done movie. Lots of action and good following to the orignial two shows.

rabbit 12-19-2010 07:31 PM

I am so ready for football season to be OVER. Just damn tired of being disappointed...

In honor of your late furry family member:

Cat by John Ronald Reuel Tolkien

The fat cat on the mat
may seem to dream
of nice mice that suffice
for him, or cream;
but he free, maybe,
walks in thought
unbowed, proud, where loud
roared and fought
his kin, lean and slim,
or deep in den
in the East feasted on beasts
and tender men.
The giant lion with iron
claw in paw,
and huge ruthless tooth
in gory jaw;
the pard dark-starred,
fleet upon feet,
that oft soft from aloft
leaps upon his meat
where woods loom in gloom --
far now they be,
fierce and free,
and tamed is he;
but fat cat on the mat
kept as a pet
he does not forget.

Your cat is Fierce and Free once more, (((Lil))).

rabbit 12-21-2010 08:59 PM

My deepest condolences to you and the family, Lil.

Lilith 12-21-2010 09:22 PM

Thank you all. I appreciate your kind words soooo much.

dicksbro 12-22-2010 05:37 AM

Sorry to hear of your loss, Lilith. As cat lovers, we appreciate the pain you must feel.

((((( HUGS TO YOU )))))

Lilith 12-22-2010 08:46 AM

My 19 year old is really struggling with the loss. That cat was his best friend for 15 years. He's in a funk and I am going to do my best to get him out of that today.

Oldfart 12-22-2010 05:41 PM

It doesn't make his grief any less real. How's #2 taking it?

Lilith 12-22-2010 06:32 PM

#2 is ok. He was sad but not to the extent that #1 is. I found out today that #1 also got dumped by his girl so I am sure that did not help matters.

Lord Snow 12-22-2010 07:50 PM

Bad news comes in threes in my family. Keep your eye on him.
